Sting Fall in Four to Thunder

The Seneca Sting (3-2) saw their two-match win streak come to an end, falling 3-1 to the Algonquin Thunder (3-0).

The Thunder captured the first two sets 25-20 and 25-17 before the Sting extended the match with a 25-7 third set victory. Any chance of extending the match to a fifth set went by the wayside early as the Thunder jumped out to a 7-2 lead and rolled to a 25-16 fourth set win.

Amy Sayaveth finished the match with 11 kills and 23 digs for the Sting. Lauren Watt added 9 kills and a trio of aces. Taylor Butcher (20 digs) and Nicole Boyd (14 digs) paced the Sting defensively. Boyd also topped the Sting with 23 assists.

The Thunder were led by Elizabeth Coakeley who finished with 9 kills. Rylee Leger added 7 kills while Sereah Rounds-Zavitz topped the team with 27 digs. Sidney Sletcher contributed 28 assists and 16 digs.
