GRIZZLIES WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL LOCK OUT LANCERS
Georgian were strong as they swept Loyalist 3-0 on Saturday at the Georgian Athletic Centre in Barrie.
The Georgian Grizzlies women's volleyball team hosted the Loyalist Lancers on Saturday afternoon at the Georgian Athletic Centre in Barrie.
The Grizzlies were able to control play throughout the match leading to a 3-0 sweep from set scores of 25-14, 25-21, 25-20.
Carolyn Cooper (Mississauga) led Georgian in scoring with 15 points from 13 kills and two aces while teammate Carina Brooks (Caledon) had another impressive showing with 10 kills, two blocks and an ace.
Sophia Clement (Scarborough) had 31 assists, 10 digs and five points in the win.
The Grizzlies improved their regular season record to 9-4 and they sit in fourth place in the OCAA east division standings.
The Grizzlies will head on the road for games against Algonquin on Feb. 1, La Cite on Feb. 2 and Fleming on Feb. 7.
Georgian will play their next home game on Wednesday, Feb. 12 when they host the George Brown Huskies at the Georgian Athletic Centre. The women's game gets underway at 6 p.m. followed by the men's at 8 p.m.
