Durham drops home finale versus Seneca

OSHAWA, Ont. - For their final home game of the season, the Durham Lords men's volleyball team hoped for a different result, but despite a solid showing, the Lords fell in straight sets to Seneca.

Prior to the start of the match, the Lords honoured five graduating seniors: Aaron Banga (Oshawa, Ont.), Kyle Watt (Oshawa, Ont.), Dalton Halligan (Cobourg, Ont.), Lucas Pichl (Cobourg, Ont.) and Kyler Woodburne (Bowmanville, Ont.).

On the stat sheet, the Lords ran into trouble from the service line, committing 10 service errors. These struggles weren't aided by the visitors' outstanding defensive effort, outnumbering the Lords in digs, 37 to 25. Despite these inefficiencies, Durham never once appeared to have conceded, fighting until the final lost point.

The Lords look to finish the season on a high note Sunday afternoon in Peterborough against the Fleming Knights. First serve for the season finale is scheduled for 3 p.m.
Tyler Krabi (Stouffville, Ont.) fired off nine kills and three blocks to record a team-high 12 points offensively.
• Both Halligan and Pichl totaled eight points for the Lords from an identical five kills and three blocks.
• Isaiah Fogah led the way for Seneca as four different players recorded double-digit points, topped by his 13.
  • Durham's offence solely ran through Woodburne, who tallied 23 assists in the three sets played.
• Savino Marques topped the Sting with 30 assists, while libero Richard Ngo made a game-high 12 digs defensively.
  Overall Record: 3-25
Conference Record: 2-15
