(London, Ontario) – The CCAA #6 Fanshawe Falcons Men's Soccer squad (9-0-1) completed OCAA regular season play with a comfortable 9-0 win over the Redeemer Royals (5-3-2). The Falcons extended their OCAA regular season unbeaten streak to 27 games, dating back to September 17, 2016.

In the 12th minute of play, Fanshawe rookie Ben Vyfschaft (London, ON) scored on a rebound after a series of three Falcons shots. Vyfschaft then had a beautiful through-ball to Mike Sneddon (Mount Brydges, ON), who tipped the ball past the Redeemer keeper. Vyfschaft continued to be a powerhouse offensively, as he would add two more goals in the first half. After the opening 45 minutes of play, the red and white had a 4-0 lead.

In his final home game as a Falcon, fifth year senior Jacob Atkinson (Forest, ON) scored back-to-back goals in the second half, stretching Fanshawe's lead to 6-0. Joseph Willingham-Murphy (London, UK) and Ahmad Al Rajie (London, ON) added a goal each for the home team before Vyfschaft netted his fourth goal of the game, tying the Fanshawe Men's Soccer record for most goals in a single game. The total shots on the day were 46-2 in favour of the Falcons as they went on to win 9-0. Sneddon and Vyfschaft finished the season with 13 and 12 goals respectively, good for second and third in the OCAA.

Fanshawe returns to the field on October 25, when they will play in an OCAA quarterfinal game at the Provincial Championship versus a to be determined opponent. The Championship will be hosted by George Brown College in Toronto and will run from October 25-27.
