(London, Ontario) – The Falcons Men's Basketball team (7-3) finished first semester play at home on Wednesday evening. Fanshawe defeated the Conestoga Condors (0-10) by a final score of 91-67 and are in a three-way tie for third place in the OCAA West Division.

The Falcons jumped out to an 8-0 lead with four points from Kuek Duol (London, ON). The Condors would then go on a run of their own to even the score 10-10. The teams would continue to trade buckets for the remainder of the quarter and Conestoga would hold a slim 19-18 lead.

Xavier Ellis (Hamilton, ON) completed a three-point play to open the Falcons offense in the second quarter. Hanani Ujullu (Kitchener, ON) then excited the home crowd with a put-back dunk. Marquise Lara-Caston (Windsor, ON) had an and-1 in transition to give Fanshawe some breathing room going into the locker room at half with a 42-34 lead.

The Falcons continued their momentum in the third frame with a huge alley-oop dunk by Alfred Johnson (London, ON). Matt Hall (Penetanguishene, ON) added a strong post move to extend the lead. Salim Bagabe (Kitchener, ON) then made two layups for Fanshawe to make the score 69-53 after the third quarter.

The home team continued to roll in the final frame with a big block by Ujullu. Zach Soltis (Cambridge, ON) grabbed a strong offensive rebound and a put-back. The Falcons went on to win the game 91-67. Bagabe scored a team-high 15 points while teammate Ujullu recorded a double-double with 12 points and 14 rebounds.

After ten games, Duol is leading the league in 3-point percentage (56.0%) and as a team Fanshawe has an OCAA-best defensive rebounds per game (34.7) and opponents' field goal percentage (36.8%).

Next up, the Falcons will take part in the OCAA East/West Classic at George Brown in Toronto. They will play two nationally ranked teams on December 28 when they face #6 Seneca followed by #9 George Brown. Fanshawe will resume league play on January 13 at University of Toronto Mississauga (3-8).
