Bangala scores four as Lords top Vikings

OSHAWA, Ont. - The Durham College men's soccer team remain top of the OCAA east region after a dominant 5-0 win over the St. Lawrence Vikings on Sunday night.

Nigel Buckley (Pickering, Ont.) had a good chance early on but his effort went just wide of the bottom left corner.

The Lords took the lead in the 21st minute when Colin Reilly (Whitby, Ont.) found Jeremy Bangala (Pickering, Ont.) to give Durham the advantage.

Bangala got his second of the night in the 30th minute when Nate Paine (Whitby, Ont.) delivered a corner and Bangala headed home from close range to get his eighth of the season as Durham led 2-0 at the break.

Bangala got his third just three minutes into the second half when J'Mar Williams (Brampton, Ont.) found him in the box and he tapped home from close range making it nine goals this season.

Keishawn Delevante (Ajax, Ont.) made it 4-0 in the 74th minute after a nice cross from Buckley saw him tap home from close range.

Bangala ended his night with his fourth of the game and tenth of the season in the 78th minute after a spectacular curling effort found the top right corner.

"I do what I do and my teammates help me contribute to the team," said Bangala. "It's a great feeling to score goals, but without my teammates I wouldn't be able to score."

With the victory, the Lords extended their unbeaten run to eight games and sit top of the OCAA eastern region with 18 points.
