Mountaineers lose road contest to Lions

Mohawk Mountaineers women's basketball began their two-game road weekend with a 65-53 loss to the Lambton Lions.

The Mountaineers got off to a slow start as the Lions scored 26-points in the opening quarter. Mohawk could not shoot themselves back into the game, shooting 1-of-15 from three for the game.

Angong Jacob (Calgary, AB) had her first-career double double with 10 points and 10 rebounds off the bench. Celina Chung (Toronto, ON) led all Mountaineer scorers with 13 and added nine rebounds.

The road trip continues on Nov. 13 for Mohawk as they head to Windsor, ON to play the St. Clair Saints at 1 p.m.
