No. 4 Men's Basketball extends streak to six

ETOBICOKE— No. 4 Humber men's basketball picked up its sixth win on the season in a statement game, defeating the Redeemer Royals (4-3, 3rd West) Saturday afternoon at the North Campus Gym, 104-66.

Already having a dominant rookie season, Frank Mitchell put together his finest performance yet in the navy and gold. The Toronto native recorded his fourth double-double, finishing with 28 points on 71.4 per cent shooting from the floor and a program-record 31 rebounds.

Five players finished in double-digit scoring for the Hawks, led by senior DeQuon Cascart with 26 points, including a game-high five triples. Jimmy Rich added 15 points, while Raheem Dennis and Rashaan Chambers finished with 12 and 10 points, respectively.

Following a tightly contested opening quarter, the Hawks took the game over in the second frame. Humber put together a 20-0 run in the quarter, taking a 22-point lead into the break. DeQuon Cascart led the Hawks in scoring in the opening 20 minutes with 20 points, while Frank Mitchell already recorded a double-double with 16 points and 17 rebounds.

Humber kept their foot on the gas in the third quarter, as the Hawks were relentless attacking the basket and forcing the Royals into nine fouls in the quarter. Humber closed out the third on a 14-3 run to take a 30-point lead into the fourth.

With the game well in hand, the Hawks rolled to the final buzzer, remaining undefeated on the season.
