ETOBICOKE, Ont. – Despite a split against the Humber Hawks, the Durham College women's softball team has booked their ticket back to the OCAA championship.
Mathematically the Lords are now out of reach of all three teams out of playoff positions after an 11-3 victory to open Sunday's games, followed by a 3-2 loss. Now they will be playing for seeding in their final two doubleheaders.
Ashley Black (Waterloo, Ont.) had a notable game for the Lords, as her two RBI tied her with Erin Dewey for Durham College's all-time RBI lead.
Next up for the Lords is their doubleheader in North York against the Seneca Sting on Wednesday.
Game 1

Kaleigh MacIntyre (Guelph, Ont.),
Sarah Seifried (Drayton, Ont.),
Caleigh Coels (Duncan, B.C.) and
Ashley Black (Waterloo, Ont.) all earned two RBI apiece for the Lords. Coels and
Kaitlyn Hickey (Oshawa, Ont.) had the best games at the plate, each going 3-for-5.
• With two RBI, Black tied Erin Dewey for Durham's all-time RBI lead at 46. Coels' two RBI has her sitting at 41, while Seifried isn't far off with her 20 RBI this year, having 40 total in her OCAA career.
Game 2
• Seifried added another RBI to bring her total to 41, now only five back of Black and Dewey for all-time lead at Durham College.
• Elisa Gregoris did the most damage for the Hawks, going 3-for-3 with two RBI in Humber's win.
Game 1

Ashley Black earned her eighth win of the season, pitching the complete game. She allowed three earned runs on 11 hits and a walk.
• Rachel Matheson-Green only pitched 4.2 innings, getting pulled after allowing four earned runs on 10 hits and a walk.
• In relief, Meagan Muir allowed three earned runs, while Kadyn Wotton allowed four runs.
Game 2
•
Emily Glendinning (Plattsville, Ont.) took the loss in the complete game performance. She pitched 6.1 innings, allowing two earned runs on five hits.
• Myranda Pierson threw 5.1 innings to win for Humber, giving up no runs on three hits and walk.
