LANCERS FALL TO COYOTES

The women's volleyball team dropped their second in a row with a tough 5 set loss to the La Cite Coyotes on home court on Sunday November 6th.

The team got off to a solid start with a hard-fought 25-23 first set victory over the Coyotes. The visiting team battled back to take the second and third sets (16-25, 23-25), forcing the home team to rally in the fourth to push for a fifth and final set.

The Coyotes took an early lead in the fifth and held a 8-4 lead at the switch. The Lancers battled back to bring the game within 2 at game point with veteran Lancer Ali Brownlee back to serve. Brownlee put up two solid serves to tie the game at 14, but the Coyotes once against pushed through to finish on the winning side of a 16-14 decision. 

First year Lancer Alyssa Diemert was dominant in the middle with 16 kills on 26 attempts with only 3 errors, and an impressive 6 blocks and 3 aces for a total of 25 points in the game. 

Veteran Lancer Sierra Scott scored 14 kills, 1 block and 2 aces of her own while adding tremendous back row defence.

The Lancers get back in action Saturday November 12th against the Centennial Colts.
