OSHAWA, Ont. - In their regular season home finale, the Durham Lords women's basketball fell 68-60 versus the visiting Algonquin Thunder on Friday evening at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre.
The late season matchup was a meeting of the top two teams in the OCAA east division as the Thunder entered the contest in first place with a 12-1 record, just ahead of the Lords who were 12-2 before the start of the match. The loss ends a nine game winning streak for the green and gold, and places them in a tie for second place with the George Brown Huskies who share an identical 12-3 record.
Following the contest, Durham honoured their graduating seniors as part of their home finale. Those recognized included
Andrea Zulich (Sudbury, Ont.),
Kaitlyn Hickey (Oshawa, Ont.), and
Emily Glendinning (Plattsville, Ont.).
Durham hits the road for their regular season finale next Sunday, Feb. 23, where they will face the University of Toronto - Mississauga Eagles. Tip-off for the road contest is scheduled for 1 p.m., with the game being streamed on
OCAA LIVE.

• A driving force for the Lords in the OCAA east showdown,
Kendra Oliver (Ajax, Ont.) registered a game-high 21 points, marking her sixth 20-plus point performance of the season.
• Both Glendinning and
Sierra Oliver (Ajax, Ont.) cracked double-digits as well scoring 12 and 10, respectively.
• Three Thunder players also reached double-digits, led by a team-high 18 from Rita Sibo.

• Kendra continued her string of double-double performances, pulling down 14 rebounds to make it three straight games and 11 in total on the season.
• Sibo also achieved the feat for Algonquin, finishing the night with 12 boards.
