DC win in extra winnings

Box Score TORONTO, Ont. - The Durham College men's baseball team claimed two wins in a doubleheader versus the George Brown Huskies on Wednesday evening.

The Lords completed an incredible comeback in Game 1 of the night, fighting back from a four-run deficit to win 6-5 in the eighth inning. Riding the momentum of the come-from-behind victory, Durham went on to shutout the host Huskies 4-0 in Game 2 before the contest was suspended due to time. Game 2 will be rescheduled to resume from the bottom of the sixth where they left off. 

Securing their third consecutive win, the Lords have nearly returned to .500 on the season with a 5-6 record. DC now ranks fourth in the OCAA standings, sitting just two wins away from jumping into the top three.

Durham will look to continue their winning ways with another road doubleheader, this time in Sarnia against the Lambton Lions on Saturday, Sept. 28. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
  Game 1
• Sam Cawker (Courtice, Ont.) scored the game-tying runs with his lone hit of the game, producing a two RBI double to left field in the top of the seventh inning.
• Utilizing some impressive base running, Ian Legault (Port Carling, Ont.) crossed the plate for the game-winning run in the eighth inning.
Game 2
• Both Connor May (Oshawa, Ont.) and Griffin Oliver (Oshawa, Ont.) went 2-for-3 with an RBI apiece in the six-inning shortened Game 2.
  Game 1
• May started the game, striking out six over 5.2 innings of work, while allowing three earned runs of five hits.
• Appearing in relief, Jason Crouse (Oshawa, Ont.) earned the win, giving up one unearned run on just two hits through 2.1 innings.
• Huskies pitcher Mitchell Triolo was handed the loss in the extra inning contest.
Game 2
• Josh Krstulovich (Brampton, Ont.) delivered a strong outing throwing five shutout innings, giving up three hits and six walks, while striking out five Huskies batters.
• Joe Giansante started Game 2 for George Brown, sitting with the loss after allowing three earned runs over six innings.
  Overall Record: 8-7 (W-L)
