The No. 12 George Brown Huskies men's basketball team picked up their second straight win as they took down the Centennial Colts 88-57 on the road Friday night.
NOTABLE STATS: The Huskies (2-2) were flying all over the place from the opening tip. Fourth-year guard Tyvell Peters was feeling it early on, as he posted 11 of his team-high 18 points in the opening quarter to help George Brown lead 26-15 after the opening quarter. The second quarter was almost identical to the first. The Huskies outscored the Colts (1-3) 24-14 in the quarter to take a 50-29 advantage into the half. They did not slow down the rest of the way.
Tyvell Peters went 7-of-12 from the field and 4-of-9 from deep for a team-high 18 points. He also recorded four steals, four assists and two rebounds in the victory. Fellow guard Teshayn Gayle filled up the stats sheet with 16 points, six rebounds, a game-five steals and four assists on the night.
Against his former team, third-year forward Darnell Richards registered a double-double of 12 points and 12 rebounds. In addition, second-year forward Russel Kalyango Jr., put up a double-double for the third straight game with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
UP NEXT: The Huskies will attempt to push their winning streak to three games in a huge East Division matchup on Sunday when they host the undefeated Georgian Grizzles (4-0) on Sunday afternoon. Tip off is scheduled for 3pm.
