LANCERS FALL TO HUSKIES

LANCERS FALL TO HUSKIES

The Lancers women's and men's volleyball teams were in action Sunday February 13 against the George Brown Huskies in their first home game of 2022.

The men's team had a strong showing in the first set thanks to tough play from first year Lancer, Pedro Caselatto. Despite dealing with a couple setbacks early on in the game, the Lancers dug in and won the first set 25-18 before dropping the second 25-7. The third game saw the Lancers battle back from being down by 5 late in the game to push for extra points. They unfortunately were not able to keep the momentum and fell 28-26 to trail 2 sets to 1. In a similar battle to the 5th set in the women's game, the Lancers and Huskies went point for point for much of the game. Pushing past 25 yet again, the Huskies finally edged out the Lancers 28-26. The game saw amazing efforts from first year Lancers Josh Vreugdenhil and Zach Cota. Charlie Smith and Noah Russel turned in great performances in the middle in the front row with great blocks and strong attacks.

Despite the Lancers' 0-2 record, the team shows continuous improvement and continues to play with heart and passion.
