SCARBOROUGH
- It was a home opener for the ages for the Centennial Colts as the Varsity Women ran through the Fleming Knights 5-0 with fans in attendance for the first time since 2019.

The win, their first of the season, was fueled in large part by their loyal supporters, as family and alumni alike cheered the Colts (1-0-1) onto victory. "Having people in the crowd hearing, especially after we scored our first goal, was incredible," said coach Ryan Hirst post-game. "That just led to building the players' emotions from there and driving them forward." The Colts had a pair of outstanding contributors for the matinee affair, including Soledad Vasquez-Cicutto, who had a couple of tallies on the game, as well as captain Emily Cullen and her staunch leadership.

"Coming into this season, the knowledge I gained from last year [as captain], I just want to uplift everyone," Cullen said. "I think it's a really important role for me to continue to communicate with all the athletes on the field." The showing from Cullen's side was dominant throughout, as the Colts jumped out to an early 2-0 lead just 24 minutes into the game. When the second half rolled around, it was all Colts against a depleted Fleming Knights side, who were running just ten women.

A pair of markers from Mylie Decoff in the second half, combined with a tally from Reagan Hutchinson, sealed the victory and clinched the Colts a 5-0 thrashing. The Colts take a light breather before returning to action against George Brown this Wednesday before hitting the road this weekend against Seneca.
