Box Score OSHAWA, ON - Traveling to challenge the Seneca Sting in their OCAA season opener, the Durham Lords fell in Game 1 by a score of 9-5, before seeing Game 2 of the intended doubleheader postponed.
The Lords were in tough to start the match versus the Sting, falling into a hole which saw them trailing 7-1 after just three innings. However, Durham made a late run as they found ways to convert the many men on bases they were able to produce all night long, scoring in each of the final five innings. However, the comeback was not to be as they fell just short in the effort.
Game 2 of the expected doubleheader was postponed due to time and will be rescheduled for a later date.
Durham will return home to Kinsmen Stadium this Sunday, Sept. 19 for their home opener, challenging the Fanshawe Falcons in an afternoon doubleheader. First pitch in Game 1 is scheduled for 1 p.m.

• Veteran infielder
Griffin Oliver (Oshawa, ON) was a monster on the base path recording three stolen bases, while going 1-for-4 at the plate with a walk and two runs.
• New centre fielder for DC
Brett Diamond (Newcastle, ON) registered a 1-for-4 in the batter's box, adding one walk, one RBI, and one run.
• Seneca catcher Edwin Kim led the way for the Sting, registering three RBI and two runs on a 2-for-4 performance on the night.
Game 1
• Lords starter
Carter Quinney (Pickering, ON) picked up the loss, going 2.1 innings and allowed two earned runs on one walk and three hits, while striking out one.
• Justin Walker earned the win for the Sting, pitching three innings of two hit ball, while striking out four and walking three.
