Mohawk Mountaineers men's volleyball lost their second consecutive match, 3-0 (23-25, 21-25, 18-25) to the Niagara Knights.

Despite three close sets, Mohawk's intensity and great effort fell short to beat Niagara.

"I think we had some good service pressure at times," said head coach Brad McClure. "For most of the time our blocking improved and our outside play was very solid."

McClure added that the team didn't show quit in tough situations.

"I think the resilience in the group is outstanding," McClure said. "Sometimes we dropped three or four points but then we were able to score four or five in a row."

Anthony Beijes (Hamilton, ON) contributed eight kills in the loss. Peter Pilling (St. Catharines, ON) assisted 22 times.

The Mountaineers head to Kitchener, ON next to play the Conestoga Condors on Nov. 19 at 3 p.m.
