OSHAWA, Ont. – The no. 9 ranked Durham College men's volleyball team dropped their first conference game of the season as they were swept by Georgian 3-0 in Barrie.
In what was dubbed as the battle of the undefeated with both teams entering the match with 3-0 records, the Lords could never find their rhythm as they were dropped in straight sets with scores of 25-17, 25-21 and 25-19.
Erik Janssen (Hampton, Ont.), who just moved into ninth spot in Durham College all-time kills, led the offensive attack with eight kills and two blocks.
Andrew Watson (Uxbridge, Ont.) would chip in with six kills while
Damin Noss (Woodville, Ont.) and
Bret Polfuss (Kitchener, Ont.) had five kills apiece.
Setter
John Pham (Mississauga, Ont.) had a team-high seven digs in the loss to go along with 27 assists.
The Lords (3-1) will look to rebound on Thursday, Nov. 10 on the road against the Loyalist Lancers (0-2).
Georgian (4-0) sits atop of the OCAA east region standings with Durham and George Brown tied for second place at 3-1.
