(London, Ontario) – The #9 CCAA ranked Fanshawe Women's Volleyball team moved to 5-0 on the season with a three set sweep over the Redeemer Royals (0-4) on Wednesday evening.

The teams traded points in the opening set, with the Falcons getting kills from their veterans. Janelle Albert (Brampton, ON), Meghan Morelli (London, ON) and Danielle Grasman (Komoka, ON) all contributed points for the red and white. Despite Redeemer's best efforts, the Falcons took the opening set 25-20.

Fanshawe stepped up their game in the second set, using great digs to create offensive opportunities for Grasman and rookie Ashley Rafferty (Peace River, AB). The Royals were unable to gain any momentum and the Falcons went on to claim the second set 25-15.

The home team continued where they left off, taking an early 11-4 lead in the third set. Second-year Katie Stewart (Gananoque, ON) had a kill for Fanshawe, followed by a huge block by Morelli that excited the crowd. The Falcons won the set 25-11 and the match 3-0. The top performers for Fanshawe were Albert, Morelli and Grasman, who had 15, 14 and 13 points respectively.

Fanshawe now has a 10-day break before heading to Sudbury for a road trip against Boréal (0-2) on Saturday, November 17 and Cambrian (0-2) on Sunday, November 18.
