For the first time since 2017, Mohawk Mountaineers men's volleyball defeated the Humber Hawks, winning 3-0 (25-21, 25-23, 25-23).

The Mountaineers had lost seven consecutive regular season matches to the Hawks before snapping that streak on Saturday afternoon.

Mohawk head coach Brad McClure said the team focused on what they had worked on in practice.

"I think we played patiently and we game-planned extremely well," McClure said. "We stuck to the game plan and we avoided one error leading to another."

Mountaineers Anthony Beijes (Hamilton, ON) contributed 13 kills in the win. Peter Piling (St. Catharines, ON) spread the ball well for 30 assists.

The first half of the 2022-23 season will come to close next week when Mohawk travels to play the Fanshawe Falcons on Dec. 3 at 3 p.m.
