Knights Men Keep Playoff Hopes Alive with Win over Canadore

February 18, 2020…WELLAND - The Niagara College Knights men's basketball team kept their playoff hopes alive with a 89-62 win over Canadore College on Saturday afternoon.

Despite a close opening quarter in which Niagara only led by five, the Knights opened the floodgates and began pouring it on through the second quarter. The Panthers only managed nine points thanks to some strong defensive play by the Knights.

The Knights went on to outscore the Panthers through the third and fourth, ultimately cruising to an 89-62 win.

"We were able to shake off some early game rust and pick up our intensity defensively allowing us to cruise for the victory," said head coach Phil Mosley. "We are still working towards a solid finish to the regular season and remain in contention for a playoff spot."

Niagara currently sits in the final playoff position, eighth in the OCAA West, with just one game remaining on their regular season schedule against Mohawk (12-6) on Saturday.
