Men's Soccer Defeat Conestoga

Kitchener, ON (Sept 25, 2021) The St. Clair men's soccer team got their first win of the OCAA season on Saturday as they defeated the Conestoga Condors in Kitchener by a score of 3-1.

The Saints got off to a great start as Noel Junior (Brazil) scored in the 13th minute. However, the Condors bounced back quickly evening the score at one all in the 23rd minute. St. Clair reclaimed the lead for good in the 58th minute on a tally by Romario Abraham (Kitchener; Cameron Heights). Jackson Kruse (Kitchener; Huron Heights) put the game away scoring in the 88th minute to make it 3-1.

St. Clair dominated play for most of the match as they had 23 shot attempts compared to 10 for Conestoga. The Conestoga keeper was solid in goal making 10 saves compared to only 1 save for Saints keeper Thomas Kogel (Windsor; St. Joseph's) who picked up the win. The Saints also had the edge in corner kicks by a margin of 8-2.

With the win St. Clair's record improved to 1 win and a loss.

The Saints are back in action on Wednesday when they host the Lambton Lions at 8 pm at Acumen Stadium at the SportsPark
