Men’s Basketball Wins Sixth Straight, Beats Sault 96-60

SAULT STE. MARIE — Humber men's basketball pushed its winning streak to six, defeating the Sault Cougars (1-10, 10th West), 96-60, Sunday afternoon.

Cy Samuels had a terrific day, recording his first career double-double, scoring a career-high 11 points to go along with 15 rebounds, five assists, and a steal.

The Hawks were terrific in the first half taking a ten-point lead into the break after shooting 18-of-39 (46.2 percent) from the field. Khalid Ismail paced the offence along the way scoring 11 points going 5-8 (62.5 percent) from the field in the first two quarters.

Humber used an 11-2 run to start the third quarter to put the game out of reach, as they entered the final quarter up, 68-47. The Hawks didn't let up despite the big lead, doing their best work in the fourth scoring 28 points on 13-23 (56.5 percent) shooting in the quarter.

The Hawks had five players finish in double figures, with Ismail leading all scorers with 19 points in the game. Fowzi Mohamoud finished with 17 points, Jaylan Morgan picked up 12 of his own, while Kevin Otoo and Samuels capped things off with 11, each.
