The Mohawk Mountaineers were able to once again find the back of the net late in a match to tie the Conestoga Condors 2-2.

Off a corner kick, Alyssa Glasbergen (Burlington, ON) was able to head the ball in for her third goal of the season in the 86th minute.

"I'm happy that I was able to score the goal at the end there," Glasbergen said. "I wish it didn't have to come to that point, but we hustled and got it in to pick up the point."

The Mountaineers showed superiority during the match after generating nine shots in the first half and 11 in the second, while the Condors only managed to generate a total of nine.

Mohawk's chances began to pay off in the 48th minute when Ryenn Jans (Millgrove, ON) opened the scoring.

Conestoga scored their two goals in a two-minute span.

Mountaineer head coach Paul Giannini explained why the team had a hard time getting the point.

"I think if you don't score goals early you allow the other team to build confidence," Giannini said. "Our girls continue to fight back for a good result, and we did OK, we got the point."

With the draw, Mohawk is now 2-0-4 on the season.

The Mountaineers will next host the Fanshawe Falcons on Oct. 4 at Tim Hortons Field beginning at 6 p.m.
