Sting Come Up Short

The Seneca Sting (0-4) fell in five sets to the George Brown Huskies (1-1), their third straight match dropping a fifth set.

The Sting captured the first set against the previously winless Huskies 25-21. The Huskies responded by taking the next two sets 25-19 and 25-20 before the Sting forced the final set with a 25-19 win.

Looking to capitalize on the momentum generated in the fourth set, the Sting came out looking energized, but it was the Huskies who jumped out to a 7-2 lead before closing out the match 15-9.

David Lazarev led the Sting with 13 kills to go along with 15 digs. Joshua Cust added 6 kills and 14 digs. Richard Ngo topped the Sting with 21 digs and Wayne Law finished with 35 assists and 13 digs.

D'Art Jackman paced the Huskies with 17 kills to go along with 11 digs. Neon Ng (13) and Ahmed Youssef (10) each had double-digit kills. Richard Serote led the Huskies with 28 digs while Pradeep Bhogal (25) and Neon (20) also hit the twenty-plus mark.
