October 31, 2022...WELLAND - The Niagara Knights women's volleyball team fell to 0-2 yesterday when they were defeated by the Conestoga Condors 3-0. Set scores were 12-25,22-25,14-25.
Niagara struggled to gain any consistency through all three sets. Set one saw both teams deadlocked at nine at one point before the Condors went on a 16-3 run to overtake the Knights 12-25.
The Knights seemed to come alive in the second set keeping things close before ultimately too many errors led to the Condors taking the 22-25 win to go up 2-0.
consistency again got the better of the blue and white, who led 13-11 before a repeat of set one where Conestoga went on a 14-1 run to take set two 14-25.
The Knights will try to capture their first win on Friday when they return home to face the Fanshawe Falcons, who have also struggled to find the win column so far this season at 0-3. Game time is set for 6:00pm at the Welland Campus Centre.
