Boyd, Sayaveth Power Sting

The Seneca Sting (2-1) defeated the Centennial Colts (1-1) in four sets in their home opener 25-23, 25-20, 17-25, 25-23.

In a battle between the two geographical rivals, the Sting outdueled the Colts at the net and made fewer errors to pick up their second victory of the season.

Nicole Boyd led the Sting with 14 kills on 17 attempts and added 11 digs defensively. Amy Sayaveth contributed 10 kills and 10 digs. Kiana Miller had 7 kills and 7 digs. Maddy Jenkins topped the Sting with 23 assists and 22 digs. Taylor Butcher added 17 digs.

For the Colts, Mari Pikkov led the team with 11 kills on 24 attempts to go along with 14 digs. Emily Joe had 8 kills, 5 blocks and 5 digs. Nadjema Soro finished with 22 assists while Meilin Carmichael (18), Kadeish Graham (12) and Elizabeth Chow (11) all topped double-figures in digs.
