Balanced attack key for Lords in sweep of Sting

OSHAWA, Ont. – After going five sets in North York against Seneca College to close the opening half of the 2016-17 season, the Durham College men's volleyball team won in straight sets on Thursday night at home to open the second half.
 
Durham opened with a 25-21 first set, which looked like it could've gone either way.
 
Another even set, saw the Lords on the positive side again as they took the second 25-20. Things unraveled for the Sting in the third as Durham easily won it 25-11.
 
Harrison Wood (Uxbridge, Ont.) continued to be a leader on the court for the Lords as he had a match-high 11 points (eight kills, two aces, block).
 
That said, Andrew Watson (Uxbridge, Ont.), Andrew Dube (Uxbridge, Ont.) and Bret Polfuss (Kitchener, Ont.) added 10, nine and six kills respectively as John Pham (Mississauga, Ont.) spread the love offensively with 30 assists.
 
At the service line Polfuss matched Wood's match-high two aces, while also being a key defensively with a match-high seven digs.
 
Seneca's Emmanuel Danso-Amofa had a team-high eight points with seven kills and a block. Their lone ace came from Jerome Graham. Sidney Wilding was the team's block leader with two.
 
This weekend the Lords will look for their seventh straight victory when they travel to Toronto to face the George Brown Huskies. First serve is scheduled for 3 p.m.
