Mohawk Mountaineers women's basketball could not solve the Humber Hawks, losing 77-48.

The Hawks started the game very strong, scoring 29 points in the first quarter to take a 19-point lead. The Mountaineers were never able to come back from the deficit.

Mohawk's offense struggled to find consistency all game long but their defence allowed them to hang around.

For the game, the Mountaineers shot 26.2 per cent while the Hawks were kept to under 40 per cent

Angong Jacob (Calgary, AB) had a team-leading nine points off the bench and Donna-Marie Borja (Calgary, AB) provided seven with three steals.

Mohawk is back at home next for Super Saturday on Nov. 5 when all four Mountaineer indoor sports teams host the Redeemer Royals. Women's basketball will kick-off the four-game action at 1 p.m. with men's basketball tipping off at 3 p.m., and then women's and men's volleyball will take to the court at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m., respectively.
