OSHAWA, Ont. – The work isn't over yet, but the Durham College men's baseball team can breathe a little easier knowing they will play for an OCAA championship at home in two weeks.
As host of the championship, the Lords were not guaranteed a spot, but officially clinched a spot with a pair of victories over the Seneca Sting on Friday night at Kinsmen Stadium.
Despite winning 14-8 in the second game, the Lords had a scare with a six-run fourth inning by the Sting and trailed midway through the game. Their opening victory saw the Durham bat's struggle to warmup as they narrowly won 5-1.
Now the Lords have two more conference games next week as they look to move into third place in the OCAA, rather than finishing in the fourth and final spot.

Griffin Oliver (Oshawa, Ont.) and
Reagan Manley (Peterborough, Ont.) were each 2-for-3 from the plate to lead the Lords offence. Manley had the only triple of the game, while scoring two runs.
