HUSKIES CONTINUE TO ROLL  AGAINST WOLVES

The George Brown Huskies men's basketball team extended their winning streak to four games after an 88-71 victory over the Algonquin Wolves at home on Saturday afternoon.

NOTABLES STATS: The Huskies offence came out red hot in the opening 10 minutes. In the first quarter, Robert Ocampo and Teshayn Gayle recorded 12 points to give their team a 34-13 edge early on. George Brown continued the momentum going in the second quarter thanks to Tyvell Peters. The fourth-year guard put up eight points in the frame, and the Huskies went into the half up 54-28.

The offence slowed down in the quarter. The team shot just 25% from the field, which allowed the Wolves to outscore them 25-12 in the third to cut the deficit to 66-53. However, the Huskies made sure the Wolves didn't get any closer as the team went 9-of-12 from the field in the fourth quarter to seal the victory.

Fourth-year guard Ocampo recorded a game-high 21 points, two assists and two steals, while fifth-year guard Gayle put up 19 points, four assists, four rebounds and a steal in the victory.

Fourth-year guard Peters recorded 16 points, three steals and two assists off the bench. Third-year forward Darnell Richard was also a spark plug off the bench registering seven points, 11 rebounds, two blocks and a steal.

UP NEXT: The Huskies (4-2, 3rd East) will look to continue their winning ways on Wednesday night when they battle the Durham Lords (3-3, 6th East). Tip off is scheduled for 8:00 pm.
