Lords fail to find rhythm in loss to Eagles

OSHAWA, Ont. – The Durham College men's basketball team fell 72-54 to the visiting University of Toronto Mississauga Eagles on Tuesday night at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre.
 
Despite a strong opening 10 minutes, which saw the Lords ahead 18-10, DC failed to find any rhythm in the midweek contest which saw a slow pace to the game from 32 total foul calls and 34 turnovers against the green and gold. Despite the struggles, the Lords still shot over 40 percent from the floor, while knocking down eight three pointers in the contest.
 
DC will end their first semester facing the Seneca Sting on Friday, Nov. 29. The game tips off at 8 p.m. from the CRWC, also being streamed on OCAA LIVE.
  Romareo Stephenson (Markham Ont.) was the lone Lords player to break double-digits on the evening, scoring a team-high 19 points on 7-of-10 shooting, knocking down 4-of-6 three pointers in the loss 
• Eagles forward Zamam Khan notched a game-high 24 points, finishing 8-of-10 from the free throw line.
  • Stephenson recorded a double-double adding 12 rebounds to his night.
• Displaying a strong defensive presence for DC, Fioti Mabanza (Whitby, Ont.) tallied four blocks and three steals, on top of eight points, six rebounds, and two assists. 
• Khan also registered a double-double with 15 rebounds, adding six assists and two steals to his night's total.
