The Storyline

Humber baseball (3-1, 3rd OCAA) will host its 2022 home opener on Sept. 16 against the Sheridan Bruins (2-2, 5th OCAA). First pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m. and will be streamed live on the Hawks Sports network.

Last Time Out

The Hawks split a crucial doubleheader with St. Clair (3-1, 3rd OCAA) down in Windsor against the defending provincial champions. After dropping game one, Brandon Deans earned his first victory as Hawks, going the distance and striking out 10. Hudson Lockwood and Dylan White paced the way at the dish, recording two RBIs each.

Scouting Sheridan
  • This will be the first-ever meeting between these two programs, as the Bruins joined the conference this season.
  • Sheridan picked up its first two wins of the season over the weekend, sweeping the Sault Cougars (0-4, 9th OCAA).
  • The Bruins are led offensively by Jack Biemans, who leads the squad with an .462 batting average.
Ohtani-san

In his first pitching appearance since 2018, Aidan Murphy threw the sixth no-hitter in program history. The Brampton native struck out ten Lambton hitters and went 2-for-3 at the dish with an RBI and a double. The next day Murphy went yard for the first time this season – the sixth of his career.

El Fuego

Second-year infielder Jaykob Turner is red-hot at the dish through his first four games, pacing the OCAA with a .700 batting average. Three of his seven hits have gone for extra bases, including a three-run home run against St. Clair.

Urban Legend

Rumours around the diamond say that NCAA DI transfer Brandon Deans hit 96 on the gun this weekend in his win over St. Clair.

The Hawks are 50-23 (.684) all-time at Connorvale Park during the regular season.
