NORTH YORK, Ont. - Beginning the new decade with a victory, the No. 5 nationally ranked Durham College men's volleyball team took down the Seneca Sting in straight sets on the road Friday night.
Improving to a perfect 10-0 on the season, the Lords swept the season series versus the Sting. DC was exceptional in terms of their offensive movement, recording 34 assists to just 15 for Seneca. Efficiency was key as well with the green and gold recording just five errors over the three sets, while converting 43 percent of their attacks for kills. A complete team effort six of the eight Lords who saw time on the court recorded five or more points, with the two who did not achieve the feat serve as libero and setter.
Durham will next challenge the George Brown Huskies at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre on Wednesday, Jan. 15. First serve for the contest is schedule for 6 p.m. with the match being streamed on

• Continuing to improve upon his OCAA all-rookie campaign a year ago, second-year middle
James Hirt (Scarborough, Ont.) led all Lords with a game-high 12 points from eight kills, three blocks, and one ace.
• A pair of first-year standouts,
Spencer Krabi (Stouffville, Ont.) and
Jason Cazes (Richmond Hill, Ont.) each recorded nine points. Krabi registered seven kills and two aces, while Cazes scored eight kills and one ace.
• Gurtaj Bal tied for a game-high 12 points, notching 11 kills and one ace for the Sting in the loss.
• Veteran setter
Liam Gray (Barrie, Ont.) recorded 33 assists in the quick three set victory, adding two kills and two digs to his stat line.
• Along with a strong offensive outing, Krabi also led the Lords defensively with 13 digs.
• Seneca setter Lior Mospan recorded 13 assist, while Bal and Daniel Edwards each registered seven digs.
