NORTH YORK, Ont. - Forty-four days since their last conference game, the Durham College women's basketball team finally resumed OCAA play.
In a back and forth game that was tied 56-56 after regulation, Seneca would eventually end up beating Durham 66-65 in overtime.
With the win, Seneca (5-2) moves into a tie with Durham (5-3) for second place in the OCAA eastern conference standings. With just six games remaining in their regular season, the Lords know that every game down the stretch could determine playoff byes and home court advantage.
Lindsay Panchan (Ajax, Ont.) had another monster game for the Lords scoring 18 points and adding 17 rebounds. However, it was veteran
Kayla Marshall (Ottawa, Ont.) who led the team in scoring as she had a 21-point performance, shooting 9-for-12 from the field.
Rebounds played a big factor in the end result as Seneca managed to grab 38 offensive rebounds, while Durham had only 36 in the defensive end.
Seneca sweeps the season series after winning their first match-up 83-76 in Oshawa.
The Lords will play their first home game since Nov. 20 at home on Tuesday night when they host George Brown at 6 p.m. The Huskies are in the playoff mix as they have a .500 record at 4-4.
