MEN'S VOLLEYBALL DETERMINED IN SWEEP OVER LA CITE
The Georgian Grizzlies men's volleyball team defeated the visiting La Cite Coyotes 3-0 on Sunday at the Georgian Athletic Centre
The Georgian Grizzlies men's volleyball team hosted the visiting La Cite Coyotes on Sunday afternoon at the Georgian Athletic Centre in Barrie.
Georgian has been a determined and focused group all season and that continued on Sunday.
The Grizzlies were impressive, sweeping the Coyotes in three straight sets with scores of 25-18, 25-15 and 25-20 to pick up their sixth straight win to open the season.
Jordi Romero (Brampton) had an excellent game with 10 kills to go along with two blocks and an ace to lead Georgian with 13 points. Ryan DeBruyn (Ottawa) had five kills and four aces while Darien Haynes (Barrie) had seven kills as well as a block and an ace.
Georgian sits on top of the OCAA east division standings with three more wins than anyone else in the division.
The Grizzlies will be back in action next Saturday, Nov. 18 when the host the Fleming Knights at 3 p.m. at the Georgian Athletic Centre. Tickets are available at the doors for $5. Students can pick up tickets for FREE at the Athletic Centre front desk.
