Men’s Basketball Welcome Back Fans with Top Games

Windsor, ON – The undefeated St. Clair College Men's Basketball (3-0) team will welcome spectators back to the SportsPlex this weekend with a pair of games against nationally ranked opponents.  On Saturday the Saints will host #4 nationally ranked Humber College (Etobicoke) followed on Sunday when they face #15 ranked Sheridan College (Brampton). 

The Saints are currently ranked #13 nationally and sit at #2 in the first OCAA provincial poll and led by 5th year 6'2" guard David Gomez Jr. (Pontiac, Michigan) who sits tied for 9th in the league at 21.0 points per game.  3rd year 6'4" transfer guard Chad Vincent-Simon (Scarborough, ON) is producing 15.0 points per game and leads St. Clair in rebounding at 7.7 per game.  3rd year 6'3" guard Jesiah Deerr (Whitby, ON) is having a fine season so far coming off the bench to put up 14.7 points per game while adding 7.3 rebounds per game.  4th year 6'5" swingman Jalen Harmon (Ypsilanti, MI) is averaging 12.7 points per game with 2nd year 5'10" guard Miles Hall (Toronto, ON) is also in double figure scoring at 10.3 per contest for St. Clair. 

Humber is the top ranked provincial team after getting off to a 2-0 start this season and are led in scoring by 5th year 6'1" guard DeQuon Cascart (North York, ON) who ranks 7th in the OCAA at 21.5 points per game but also adds 5.0 assists per game.  Rookie 6'8" forward Frank Mitchell (Toronto, ON) is clearing the glass for the Hawks at a high rate so far at 18.0 rebounds per game. 

In the early stages of the season Sheridan (2-1) is the 3rd rated team in the province with 2nd year 6'4" guard Mahmoud Qasim (Mississauga, ON) topping his squad in scoring at 22.7 points per game (OCAA T-5th) but is nearly leading his team in rebounding at 8.0 per contest.

Both Saturday and Sunday games tip at 3:00pm and fans are encouraged to arrive early so they can complete COVID protocols which include screening and proof of double vaccination along with showing their government issued identification. 

General Admission rates is $5.00 for ages 13 and up while 12 and under along with St. Clair students gain access for free.
