WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL FALL IN TIGHT MATCH TO THUNDER
Amber Maw and Ashtyn Smith along with the women's volleyball team battled hard but fell 3-1 to Algonquin on Friday night.
The Georgian Grizzlies women's volleyball team hosted the Algonquin Thunder on Friday night at the Georgian Athletic Centre in Barrie.
Georgian battled hard but ultimately fell to the Thunder 3-1 by set scores of 25-15, 15-25, 26-24 and 25-21.
Carina Brooks (Caledon) had a solid game scoring a team high nine kills, three aces and two blocks for a 14-point game.
Teammate Domenica De Francesco (Barrie) had six kills, five aces and two blocks while Sophia Clement (Scarborough) had 27 assists and three digs.
The Grizzlies are now 5-3 on the season and currently sit in fourth place in the OCAA east division standings.
Georgian will be back in action on Saturday, Nov. 30 when they host the La Cite Coyotes at the Georgian Athletic Centre. The women's game gets underway at 1 p.m. which is followed by the men's game at 3 p.m.
