Box Score OSHAWA, Ont. – The Seneca Sting led from the beginning as the Durham College women's basketball team was unable to put together back-to-back wins as they head into their final game of the semester this Friday.
Seneca defeated Durham 74-63 in their second meeting of the season.
Three Lords were in double-digit scoring, with
Dekota Kirby (Markham, Ont.) leading the way with 18.
Emily Glendinning (Plattsville, Ont.) and
Maddie Dender (Ajax, Ont.) finished with 13 and 11 respectively.
For the Sting, they only had two players with double-digit scoring, but a double-double of 10 points and 17 rebounds by Shenice Stubbs and 24 points by Taylor Allicock was enough to improve Seneca's record to 2-0 on the season against the Lords.
The victory for Seneca also extended their streak against Durham, their third win in a row and sixth in the last 10 meetings.
This Friday the Lords will wrap up the opening half of their season against the George Brown Huskies. Tip off is 7 p.m. at the CRWC.
Members of the basketball teams are collecting donations and lightly used teddy bears at Friday night's game in support of the YMCA's annual toy drive. If you can't make it to the game donations are being collected at the front desk of the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre.
