LANCERS DROP FIRST OF THE SEASON

LANCERS DROP FIRST OF THE SEASON

The Men's basketball team got off to a strong start against the Durham Lords in Oshawa, ON Friday night. After trailing by 1 at the end of the first quarter, the Lancers tied the game at 37 mid way through the second before the Lords quickly regained the lead and never looked back.

Phillip DaSilva came through for the Lancers with only 4 minutes left in the third quarter with a big shot from outside the arc to bring the game back within 2. Katrel Johnson went 1-1 from the line seconds later to push to a 1 point game but the Lancers couldn't quite get the edge to overcome the Lords' quick offence.

Despite outscoring the home team 27-25 in the final quarter, the Lancers dropped their first of the season 102-93.

Da Silva led his team in scoring with 28 points while first year Lancer Ahmed Ismail came off the bench to contribute 18 and 8 rebounds for his top performance of the season.

Next up for the Lancers are the George Brown Huskies on Friday November 17 in the Lancerdome.
