Box Score SCARBOROUGH, Ont. – The Durham College women's volleyball team saw their three-game win streak come to an end in Scarborough after falling to the Centennial Colts in four sets on Wednesday night.
Durham, who was swept in Oshawa, fell 3-1 (25-22, 15-25, 25-27, 24-26) with their only set victory coming in the close opening set.
The hosts bounced back in the second set to beat the Lords by double digits and they would go on to win three unanswered.
In the final two frames, Durham pushed the Colts, but were not lucky enough to find the two-point spread they needed to be awarded the set.
Megan Romain (Ajax, Ont) recently surpassed 200 assists this season and she continued that playmaking with 28 more tonight.
A couple of the usual offensive leaders stood out once again tonight as
Sarah Rayment (Whitby, Ont.) posted a game-high eight kills and
Jessica Joensen (Pickering, Ont.) recorded seven. First-year
Cassidy Nicholson-Clarke (Ajax, Ont.) also picked up seven kills, just one short of her career high set exactly a week ago against George Brown.
The Lords are back at home on Saturday, Jan. 27 as Durham College host the Algonquin Thunder. Match time is set for 6 p.m. at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre.
