Mohawk Mountaineers men's basketball saw their six-game win streak to start the 2022-23 season come to an end following a 118-94 loss to the Conestoga Condors.

Despite Mohawk playing competitive basketball for three of four quarters, Conestoga won the second quarter by 11 points which played a major difference in the contest.

The Mountaineers coaching staff gave full credit to the Condors complete performance while acknowledging that Mohawk did not have their best game.

"We just (have to) forget about it, that's all," said head coach Brian Jonker. "It wasn't close to our best effort … full marks to them, they were the better team. They had more energy all game long."

The shorthanded Mountaineers were led on offense by Daniel Graham (Hamilton, ON), who scored 22 in the loss. Jerry Jr. Mercury (Scarborough, ON) posted his fourth double-double of the season with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Mohawk is back in action on the road on Nov. 24 versus the Niagara Knights at 8 p.m.
