Condor’s Dominate Cougars in Weekend Series

Game 1

Taylor Phillips was all over the court in the first game as she led the Condors with 17 points, 6 assists, and 5 rebounds. The Condors opened the first quarter with a 5-point lead and never looked back as the Cougars had no answer. Defence was a big factor for the Condors, the 42 points given up were the second least given up this season.

Coach Dee Channing went to her bench often and they responded well with the extra playing time. She wanted to preserve the starters for game 2 which was on Sunday February 10th.

Game 2

Game 2 was much of the same story for the Conestoga Women's team as they went into half-time with a 10-point lead. Taylor Phillips lead the way again with 21 points this time as she played 38 minutes. The Cougars made a late run in the fourth quarter which brought the lead down to four at one point. But the Condor's responded well and finished the game strong to win by 11.

Alisha Glendinning was excellent as she gathered 14 rebounds in only 30 minutes, she also had five assists.

The Condors improved to 7-11 on the weekend and look to finish the season strong with two games remaining in the schedule. They can secure seventh place in the Western conference with one win in their final two games.

They will visit the Niagara Knights on Wednesday February 13th.
