Box Score KINGSTON, ON - Entering this week ranked No. 7 in the CCAA national rankings, the Durham Lords men's soccer team found themselves on the wrong side of an upset on Friday night, falling 2-1 to the St. Lawrence Surge in Kingston.
Durham saw a good start to their Friday evening road contest, taking an early 1-0 lead in the 18th minute courtesy an
Isiah Passley (Pickering, ON) goal.
However, the Lords got into trouble near the end of the first half as they conceded back-to-back penalty kicks to the Surge in the 32nd and 38th minute. St. Lawrence athlete Tim Balfour took full advantage on both occasions to put the Surge up 2-1 at the break.
Entering the second half, DC pushed for an equalizer but none was to be found.
The Lords return home to Vaso's Field for their next regular season contest, welcoming the Centennial Colts to Oshawa on Wednesday, Sept. 29. Kick off for the match is scheduled for 8:15 p.m. with the action being streamed on
OCAA LIVE.
