Oliver's 20-20 night pushes Lords to victory

OSHAWA, Ont. - Making it back-to-back wins for the green and gold, the Durham College women's basketball team defeated the visiting University of Toronto Mississauga Eagles 84-67 on Tuesday night at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre.
 
Following a back-and-forth first half which saw the game tied 35-35, the Lords came to life offensively in the second half dominating the paint and finding their range from behind the arc. Durham hit four of their six three pointers in the second half, while outrebounding the Eagles 64-39 through the entirety of the match resulting in and impressive 52 points coming in the paint for the green and gold.
 
The Lords will finish their first semester versus the Seneca Sting on Friday, Nov. 29. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m., with the game also being streamed on OCAA LIVE.
   • Nailing four of the teams six three pointers, Emily Glendinning (Plattsville, Ont.) led the Lords on the night with a team-high 28 points.
• Also having an outstanding offensive performance, Kendra Oliver (Ajax, Ont.) delivered 25 points in the win.
• The driving force for the Eagles all night long, Jade Addai notched a game-high 34 points for UTM.
  • Oliver not only broke the 20 point mark, but also broke the 20 rebound mark with an incredible 21 rebounds on the night, including 10 off the offensive glass.
• Janella Viado led the Eagles in rebounding with 100 boards in the loss.
