No. 5 Lords power their way to win over Knights

PETERBOROUGH, Ont. – Ranked No. 5 in the country, the Durham College men's volleyball team continued their undefeated start to the season with a straight sets victory over the Fleming Knights on Thursday night in Peterborough. Set scores were 25-21, 25-22, 25-21.

Six of the Lords eight wins this season have come by straight sets, with the green and gold conceding just two sets in total thus far.

DC currently ranks first in the OCAA east division with their 8-0 record, ahead of the 6-1 Canadore Panthers who come to town this Sunday, Dec. 1 for a CCAA marquee matchup. The Lords will also be accepting non-perishable food items prior to the start of Sunday's doubleheader alongside the Durham basektball teams this Friday, all in support of Settlement House. First serve is set for 3 p.m. with the match being streamed on OCAA LIVE.
  • Third-year outside hitter Andrew Dube (Uxbridge, Ont.) once again led the way offensively utilizing his incredible power en route to a game-high 14 point performance from 14 kills.
• Continuing to find success in the middle, James Hirt (Scarborough, Ont.) and Lucas Pichl (Cobourg, Ont.) each notched nine points with Hirt registering five kills, one block, and three service aces, while Pichl recorded seven kills and two aces. 
• Joel Howes was the top scorer for the Knights, finishing with 11 points from nine kills, one ace, and one block.
  • A dynamic presence as a setter and server for the Lords, Liam Gray (Barrie, Ont.) recorded 36 assists and four service aces in the three set contest.
• Setter Jordan Ross registered 23 total assists, while Bayley Brown notched 12 digs defensively for Fleming.
