LANCERS DOWNED BY EAGLES

LANCERS DOWNED BY EAGLES

The Lancers found themselves on the losing side of an 82-60 decision against the University of Toronto, Mississauga Eagles on the road on Saturday.

After the Lancers opened the scoring with back to back buckets, the Eagles went on a 15 point run to take the lead. The Lancers finally got themselves going and pulled out 9 point streak to end of the quarter down 23-17.

The second quarter saw the Lancers outscore the Eagles 16-15 but still trail 38-33 at the half.

Despite bringing the game within 1 point in the third and keeping the score close for that quarter, the Lancers weren't able to hold on and the Eagles widened the gap again and pushed to a 82-60 final.

Third year Lancer Brittany Mason continued to dominate with 17 points, 12 rebounds and 3 blocks for her third double-double performance of the season. First year Lancer Hannah Schipper also recorded a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds - her first of the season.

With the injury plagued first half now complete, the Lancers have earned some much needed rest over the Christmas holidays. They get back in action Thursday January 14th in Oshawa against the Durham Lords.
