The Seneca Sting showed little rust in a dominating 77-38 victory over the Georgian Grizzlies.
The Grizzlies jumped out to a 4-1 lead early, but the Sting were quick to take the lead before ending the first quarter with a 12-10 lead.
Taylor Allicock took over the game, helping the Sting take a commanidng eighteen point lead into halftime 37-19. The Sting increased their lead to 55-26 through three quarters thanks to a suffocating defense which held the Grizzlies to just seven points in the quarter.
With the outcome already decided, the Sting outscored the Grizzlies 21-12 in the fourth quarter to open the season with a win.
Allicock led the Sting with 25 points to go along with 7 assists and 5 steals. Tiffany McNeil added 14 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists while Melody Lucena and Chelsea Ramsay each added 10 points.
Kelsey Dunkeld and Mckenzie Howlett each scored 9 points and secured 6 rebounds for the Grizzlies.
