The Storyline
Humber rugby opens the 2021 season on Oct. 2 against the Sheridan Bruins at Valley Field. Game time is set for 1 pm and will be streamed live on the Hawks Sports Network. Broadcast note: No audio will be available for the broadcast.
Format
Due to the late start to the 2021 season, the rugby season will consist of four matches – two home and two road – and each half will be 30 minutes in length.
At the Helm
Head coach Fabian Rayne will return for his seventh season with an all-time record of 38-8 (.826). Coach Rayne led Humber rugby to four straight OCAA titles from 2011 to 2014. He will be joined on the sidelines by new additions to his staff, Michael Sheppard and Jesse Lofthouse.
Leaders
Richard Sheffield returns for his second season, after leading Humber with 36 points in six matches in 2019. He will be joined by fellow all-star Scott Kisiel, and stand-outs Shermar Morris, Zack Shurtleff, and Grant Clark.
Scouting Sheridan
- The Hawks are 5-3 all-time against Sheridan, including a 20-0 forfeit loss in 2015.
- The Hawks have scored 100 or more points on the Bruins, twice.
What's Next?
Humber will conclude its 2021 home schedule on Oct. 9 against Georgian College. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
