No. 9 Lords win seventh straight

SCARBOROUGH, Ont. – The Durham College women's volleyball team continued their hot start to the 2019-20 season, picking up their seventh straight win and sixth consecutive straight set victory in defeating the Centennial Colts 3-0 on Monday evening in Scarborough. Set scores were 25-13, 25-13, 25-13.

The No. 9 team in the country, the Lords once again utilized a complete team effort with all 12 players seeing time on the court and only one athlete playing in all three sets in the match. For the second straight match there were at least six Lords players who recorded five or more points in the win.

DC now has 10-days to prepare for their next contest when they will travel to Peterborough on Thursday, Nov. 28 to face off against the Fleming Knights. First serve is set for 6 p.m. with the match being streamed on OCAA LIVE.
  • The dynamic duo of middles Cassidy Nicholson-Clarke (Ajax, Ont.) and Alexa Armstrong (Whitby, Ont.) recording eight and six points respectively, with Nicholson-Clarke registering five kills and three service aces, while Armstrong added two kills, two aces, and two blocks.  
• Three more Lords in Jessica Joensen (Newcastle, Ont.), Althea Boncheff (Alliston, Ont.), and Allyson Terwillegar (Enniskillen, Ont.) all recorded five points apiece.
• Tiera-Lyn Ragbeer led the way for the Colts with a team-high six points from four blocks and two service aces.
  Georgi Williams (Whitby, Ont.) not only scored 20 assists as the Lords primary setter, but she also added seven points with two kills and five aces in a complete game performance.
• Centennial's Stella Dada registered a game-high six digs in the straight sets loss.
  Overall Record: 17-6
